Equipment

Over twenty years I have taken photos since my early teenage years. As many photographers, I have been with quite a few cameras and photographic equipment. If you love photography, you cannot help but like cameras and accessories.
Some may say that they don’t really care much about photographic equipment and that their equipment are only tools. After many years of my experience, I don’t really believe these words. These words might make you look more artist and photographer than collector.
However, I haven’t seen a photographer, either professional or amateur, who love photography but don’t have any preference on their equipment. Nor have I seen a photographer who does not appreciate the qualities of their equipment. If there is someone who disdains his/her equipment but regards him/herself as an artist, I am highly suspicious of him a kind of hypocrite.
Because photography is depended on optics, mechanics, and/or electronics, a photographer cannot but rely on his/her cameras and other equipment for the quality of photos and even for his/her artistic creativeness, not absolutely and totally, but to a certain degree  for sure.
This is why photographers always talk about cameras and photographic equipment. Nevertheless, excellent optics, mechanics and/or electronics, plus form factor of camera will not automatically produce a great photo at a particular occasion. It should be you who decide and take a beautiful photograph at a particular scene. But, to achieve this, you need proper equipment.
